Dan Hartman attended Northern Michigan University and Hillsdale College and later graduated from Thomas S. Cooley Law School and became licensed to practice in 1996. Dan then worked in East Lansing, MI handling cases for 2 separate established Lansing Lawyers. One of which dealt with Drivers License Reinstatement and Substance abuse crimes. The Other attorney handled serious felony work and at this time Dan also ran ads and handled his own cases.

18 months later Dan moved to Petoskey where he had a general practice handling any kind of case such as litigation, legal defamation, divorce, sexual harassment, personal injury, bankruptcy, copyright dispute, workman compensation, estate planning etc. In 2004 Dan focused his practice on aggressive criminal defense which is 80% of his work today. Daniel is known as a criminal defense authority, recognized throughout the state of Michigan amongst his peers.
